Google tries to go deep into Microsoft Office teritory

Yesterday Google announced Cloud Connect for MS-office. This is google’s DocVerse acquisition in play. It took about 9months for Google to get it on its infrastructure. This would enable MS-Office users who have not yet moved on to the google-docs to take advantage of Google docs features like Cloud hosted sharing. This cloud connect allows syncup of docs as well as collaborative editing of the documents. The MS users do not need to leave their MS tools however this would be yet another attempt of Google to go deep into MS territory specifically on browsers. We need to see how this plays especially when Microsoft is now having hosted docs too.
